Biography:
In 1995, Regina completed a Master's degree in counseling and for ten years had the privilege of working with children and their families in both in-home family therapy and school counseling. In 2006, she began attending births with women and their partners as a professionally trained birth support person. From that moment, she was struck by the importance of helping couples prepare for birth so that they could look forward to this amazing life event. Now as a certified doula and registered calmbirth® practitioner, Regina feels privileged to teach the calmbirth® program which assists couples towards finding personal empowerment as they bring their children into the world with a sense of calm confidence and joy.
On September 8, 2007, Regina gave birth to her daughter, Maia using the calmbirth® program. It was an amazing experience which reinforced how relaxation and a woman's trust in her body's ability to birth are paramount to the birthing process. Maia was born in seven hours at home and both Regina, and her husband and their midwife were amazed at how easily she progressed through the birth. Regina looks forward to sharing her knowledge with some couples so that they can have the same confidence to birth their babies without fear using their own natural resources.
